Shofner Vision Center Announces Operation Military June To Promote Awareness And Funds For Local Not-For-Profit Organizations Supporting Military And Their Families

Shofner Vision Center created "Operation Military June" to provide significant funds and public awareness for local not-for-profit organizations that help both active and retired military personnel and their families. "We encourage others to join us in this effort to build awareness for the plight of our Military and their families while also helping provide funds for the organizations who are critical to not only helping these wonderful people, but making a difference by saving lives", says Dr. Stewart Shofner. Dr. Shofner also states, "We at Shofner Vision Center hope to gain much needed funding and also public awareness for these not-for-profits serving the military."

Operation Military June

Shofner Vision Center will promote Operation Military June and gift $400 ($200 per eye) for each LASIK or PRK appointment booked during the month of June (the patient, if deemed a good candidate for LASIK, must subsequently have the procedure). The patient receives the most affordable LASIK price in Middle Tennessee and Shofner Vision absorbs the cost of the donation. Although the appointment must be made in June, both the LASIK evaluation and surgery can take place anytime during 2013. When surgery is performed, Shofner shall issue a check for $400 ($200 per eye) payable to one of the not-for-profits chosen by the patient. Local not-for-profit organizations include: Soldiers & Families Embraced (SAFE), Disabled American Veterans, Operation Stand Down Nashville, REBOOT Recovery and EANGTN Auxiliary Soldier Airman Relief Fund.

WHO:   Anyone seeking to improve their vision and who qualifies for LASIK/PRK Vision Correction Surgery can Join The Vision Mission with Shofner Vision Center. Other companies are also urged to support Operation Military June and find ways to help fund these not-for-profits which are dedicated to our military.

About Shofner Vision Center

Dr. Shofner's father was a highly decorated Marine General who participated in more combat than any Marine officer in WWII. He also led one of the few successful escapes from a Japanese prisoner of war camp.Dr. Kevin Johnson is active in the US Air Force Reserves. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force F-16 "Top Eye" program, and participated in the Air Force evaluation of PRK/LASIK for Air Force Academy Cadets and Pilots.
